Russian Business Delegation Concludes a Successful Third Day of India Business Mission in Gurugram

The third day, 6th September 2023 of the Russian Business Delegation's mission to India, unfolded in Gurugram, with a focus on strengthening textile trade relations between Russia and India. The delegation, committed to exploring opportunities for importing Indian-made goods into Russia, engaged in a series of productive and insightful meetings.


The business mission facilitated by the Centre for Global Business and Investment Promotion (CGBIP) of International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation (IYES Foundation), India in collaboration with the Foundation of Creative Industries of the Ulyanovsk Region, consisting of eight distinguished members, including Panfilov Nikolay Ivanovich, Project Manager of the Directorate of International Cooperation. Socially useful fund "Foundation of Creative Industries of the Ulyanovsk region", Bibich Anna Sergeevna, Art Director of company “Lankov E.V. (Business Line)”, Varlamova Anastasiia Sergeevna, Marketplace Analyst of the company “MIKITA”, Marizova Alexandra Viktorovna, Director of company “Marizova A.V.”, Osipova Zinaida Vasilievna, Development Manager of company “Elite”, Piatkina Anastasiia Vyacheslavovna, Lead Designer, of company “Lankov E.V. (Business Line)”, Rahul Sharma, Vice-President of Centre for Global Business and Investment Promotion (CGBIP) and Director of Regional and International Projects of International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation (IYES Foundation) and a translator, continues its mission to explore promising opportunities for importing Indian-made goods into Russia. This delegation is poised to strengthen trade ties between India and Russia. The day's activities showcased the delegation's commitment to exploring opportunities for importing high-quality Indian-made goods to Russia.


Day three of the mission commenced with an exciting factory visit to Kunvar Overseas, a government-recognized export-oriented unit situated in Udyog Vihar III, Gurugram, India. Kunvar Overseas specializes in the manufacturing of hi-fashion clothing, natural leather, wool-melton, cotton drill, and an array of leather goods. Notably, the company boasts its own brand, "Chöjé," and a comprehensive online presence at www.lovechoje.com.


The delegation received a warm welcome from the enthusiastic team at Kunvar Overseas, setting the tone for an engaging day ahead. The visit began with an introduction by Mr. Kunal Chawla, Managing Partner of Kunvar Overseas, who provided valuable insights into the company's diverse production portfolio and impressive manufacturing capacity. The discussion illuminated the potential for collaboration between Russian and Indian businesses in the fashion and leather goods sector.

Following the insightful discussion, the delegation had the privilege of touring the production processes of the factory. The hands-on experience allowed the delegates to witness the precision and craftsmanship that goes into producing high-quality clothing, leather garments, and leather goods. The visit also included a stop at the showroom, where the delegation had the opportunity to explore the exquisite range of leather garments, leather goods, and textile garments offered by Kunvar Overseas. The delegates were highly impressed with the products on display, further solidifying their interest in potential partnerships.

As the day progressed, the Russian delegates engaged in discussions that focused on the export potential of Kunvar Overseas, exploring avenues for introducing their products to the Russian market.

The starting of the third day of the Business Mission in Gurugram showcased the delegation's commitment to exploring and establishing robust trade relations between Russia and India. The opportunities discovered at Kunvar Overseas were both enlightening and promising, paving the way for future collaborations.



The day continues with a visit to "Shivank Udyog" a prominent apparel manufacturer with a presence across five factories in the Delhi NCR region, situated in Udyog Vihar, Phase V, Gurugram, INDIA. Known for their team of fashion designers and state-of-the-art, system-driven production facilities adhering to international environmental sustainability standards, Shivank Udyog is a testament to India's commitment to quality and innovation. The delegation received a warm welcome from Mr. Sashi Bhusan, Head of Operations at Shivank Udyog, and the members of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

BRICS CCI, a leading organization dedicated to promoting economic cooperation, trade, and investment among the member nations of the BRICS alliance (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), played a pivotal role in facilitating this meeting. Mr. Naman Utreja, Project Associate of BRICS CCI, along with his colleague, led the BRICS CCI team in the discussions.

The meeting revolved around discussions about the manufacturing and export processes to Russia, providing the Russian delegates with valuable insights into Shivank Udyog's capabilities. Following the discussion, the delegation embarked on a comprehensive tour of Shivank Udyog's production unit, finishing unit, and showroom, where they had the opportunity to appreciate the quality of the products and the meticulous manufacturing processes.

The visit culminated in a meeting with Mr. Ashish Aggarwal, Director of Shivank Udyog, further strengthening the potential for future collaborations between Russian and Indian businesses.



The day continued with next visit to Sanya International, a renowned manufacturer and exporter of knitted and woven garments. Situated in Sector 37, Gurugram, India, Sanya International has earned the prestigious recognition of a "Star Export House" from the Government of India. The company boasts a diversified product range and is dedicated to ethical operations, timely deliveries, and environmental sustainability.

The delegation received a warm welcome from the team at Sanya International, including the company's founder, Mr. Sanjay Kalra, his daughter, Ms. Sanya Kalra, Marketing Director, and Mr. Akshay Yadav, Merchandising Director and Lead Designer, Ms. Aashima Sharma.

The visit to Sanya International commenced with a tour of their impressive showroom, where delegates engaged in a comprehensive discussion over high tea regarding the manufacturing process and export potential to Russia. The delegation gained valuable insights into Sanya International's commitment to quality and ethical business practices.

The highlight of the visit was the tour of the production unit and finishing unit, where the delegates observed firsthand the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into every product. The delegates were highly impressed by the quality and diversity of the garments.

As a delightful surprise, the team at Sanya International hosted a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, an Indian Hindu festival that marks the birth of Lord Krishna. The gesture was a heartfelt demonstration of Indian hospitality, allowing the delegates to immerse themselves in the local culture.

The visit ended with a gesture of appreciation from the team at Sanya International, as each delegate was honored with wonderful gifts, showcasing India's spirit of warmth and generosity.



Mr. Sanjay Kalra, Co-Founder of Sanya International, played a pivotal role in facilitating the day's activities. He led the delegation on a captivating tour of one of the printing facilities outsourced by Sanya International, known as "Boutique International". Mr. Santosh Dixit, a key representative from Boutique International, guided the Russian delegates through the intricacies of the facility's operations.

The delegates were captivated by the printing process, which showcased the precision, innovation, and quality control that are hallmarks of Indian manufacturing. The interactive tour left a lasting impression on the delegation and further fueled their enthusiasm for potential collaborations.

Following this enlightening visit, the delegation bid farewell to Boutique International and embarked on their next factory visit, poised to explore additional opportunities for cooperation.



By the end of the day, the delegates headed to visit the Shree Balaji Knits, founded by Mr. Shiv Kumar, a highly reputed establishment in Delhi NCR for all kinds of fabric needs. In a relatively short span of time, Shree Balaji Knits has evolved into one of the most respected manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers of man-made fibers. Their specialty encompasses a wide range of fabrics, including Jersey Fabrics, T-shirt Fabrics, Spandex Fabrics, Knitted Jersey Fabrics, Special Fabrics, and more. They also offer a world-class collection of products, including Woven Fabric, Non-Woven Fabric, Knitting Fabric, Rexine Products, PVC Products, Gel Packs, Foam Laminated Products, and more.

The delegation received a warm and gracious welcome from the team of Shree Balaji Knits, led by the founder of the company, Mr. Shiv Kumar himself. Mr. Kumar provided an informative tour of the fabric showroom, introducing the delegates to the diverse array of fabrics produced by the factory. The delegation gained valuable insights into the quality and range of products offered.

A highlight of the visit was the tour of the factory, where the delegates observed the intricate knitting process of fabric production. This hands-on experience allowed them to witness the precision and craftsmanship that goes into creating these high-quality textiles. To further cement their collaboration, a selection of knits and fabrics was graciously provided to the delegates as samples.



The third day concluded on a positive note after a series of productive visits to various factories in the Gurugram region of Delhi NCR, India. The Russian Business Delegation remains committed to exploring and forging strong trade relations between Russia and India, with a focus on importing Indian-made goods into Russia.

The mission's objectives will continue to be pursued vigorously in the days to come as the Russian Business Delegation delves deeper into India's thriving business landscape.

This Business Mission is a collaborative effort of the “Centre for Global Business and Investment Promotion (CGBIP)” of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation (IYES Foundation), India and “The Foundation of Creative Industries of the Ulyanovsk Region”, Russia, BRICS Project Office for International Youth Cooperation, Ulyanovsk, Russia, to promote trade and economic cooperation between India and Russia.

The purpose of the business mission is to make industrial visits to textile and apparel manufacturers and processors to offer the Russian delegation first-hand exposure to the Indian textile industry's capabilities, innovations, and product offerings. The visit aligns with a broader business mission focused on strengthening trade ties between the two nations and expanding the market for Indian textiles, garments, and related products in Russia. This immersive experience will enable the delegation to assess the quality, production processes, and designs of Indian-made textiles, garments, accessories, and home furnishings, thereby facilitating informed decisions for potential imports.
