Participants of the XIII Dialogue for the Future met Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov

Annually, the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund hosts its flagship educational research program, "Dialogue for the Future," which took place for the 13th time in Moscow. The event brought together over 80 young international participants and experts from 21 countries worldwide.

The program's objective is to enlighten young individuals, including international affairs specialists, political scientists, economists, journalists, politicians, and public figures from both Russia and foreign nations, about the Russian Federation's stance on crucial global issues. Additionally, the initiative seeks to cultivate an unbiased and accurate image of Russia on the global stage.

As part of this dialogue, a meeting took place on December 7, 2023, at the Foreign Ministry of Russia, featuring a discussion with Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov. The diplomat provided insights into contemporary trends in the international political landscape and highlighted the challenging circumstances under which Russian departments operate while safeguarding national interests abroad.

Akil Mohammad, Founder and Chairperson of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation and Deputy Head of the “Russia-BRICS” project office for international youth cooperation, actively engaged in the discussion with the Deputy Foreign Minister. During the dialogue, Akil posed questions concerning the potential establishment of a common fund to support civil society projects within BRICS and the institutionalization of the BRICS alliance through the creation of a permanent headquarters.

In response, the diplomat expressed openness to the idea, pledging to explore the possibility of creating a common fund with colleagues from member nations during Russia’s chairmanship of the alliance in 2024. Regarding other inquiries, the diplomat mentioned that BRICS aims to double its member countries in 2024, emphasizing the group's priority of adapting and collaborating smoothly with new member nations due to their diverse cultures. The establishment of a permanent headquarters, however, was deemed a non-immediate necessity.
