Meeting of Youth Organizations & Presentation of the World Youth Festival 2024: A Gathering of India's Rising Youth Pioneers


The Meeting of Youth Organizations and Presentation of the World Youth Festival 2024, held at the Russian House (Russian Centre of Science and Culture Centre, 24 Firoz Shah Road, New Delhi) on October 19, 2023, brought together youth leaders, representatives of various youth organizations, and young individuals actively involved in youth activities from across India.


The event was organized with the mutual efforts of the Department for Interaction with Countries of Asia and Africa of the ANO “Directorate of the World Youth Festival”, Russian House at Delhi, International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation (IYES Foundation), and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BRICS CCI), was a resounding success. The event saw active participation from various youth leaders, representatives of youth organizations, and young people engaged in numerous youth activities across India.


The event was inaugurated with a warm welcome of guests by Mr Rahul Sharma, the Director of Regional and International Projects of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation (IYES Foundation), and Mr Varun Kashyap of the Future India Team. Together, they set the stage for a day filled with inspiration and collaboration.


The Presentation of the World Youth Festival 2024:

The spotlight of the event fell on Ms Abdul Vasya Tahmina, the Leading Specialist of the Department for Interaction with Countries of Asia and Africa of the ANO “Directorate of the World Youth Festival.” In a presentation that resonated with the audience, Ms Tahmina delivered a comprehensive overview of the eagerly awaited World Youth Festival 2024, which is set to take place in Sochi, Russia in March 2024. Her commitment to understanding and engaging with the Indian youth was underlined when she addressed the audience in Hindi, expressing her desire not only to present the festival but also to get to know the Indian youth and youth leaders. Her impressive Hindi language skills, despite it being foreign to her, left a lasting impression.


As a testament to the essence of unity in diversity, Ms. Tahmina encouraged all participants to introduce themselves. This session was marked by inspiring stories and an outpouring of ideas, showcasing the collective determination of India's young leaders to make a positive impact on society for youth empowerment.


Insights from Rosmolodezh:

Ms. Alisa Malchenko, who serves as a Consultant within the International Activities Department of Rosmolodezh, graciously imparted a wealth of knowledge regarding Rosmolodezh's extensive international initiatives. Among these initiatives, she highlighted the "Eurasia Global" & “BRICS Youth Camp”, which serve as a remarkable platform for international collaboration and cultural exchange.


Her presentation illuminated the multitude of opportunities that await Indian youth on the global stage through the programs and endeavours facilitated by Rosmolodezh. It underscored the potential for cross-border cooperation, skill development, and broadening horizons for the youth of India. Ms. Malchenko's insights opened doors for young individuals to explore, engage, and thrive in international settings.


Introducing IYES Foundation:

Mr. Rahul Sharma, Director, Regional and International Projects of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation, provided an insight into the Foundation's mission and achievements. Notably, the Foundation successfully organized the Indian phase of the social and cultural program "BRICS People Choosing Life," touching the lives of around 2000 Indian individuals and organizations across New Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. The Foundation's dedication to providing information about events and opportunities to youth through various online platforms was also highlighted.



Q&A Session with Ms. Abdul Vasya Tahmina:

Mr. Rahul Sharma initiated an engaging dialogue with Ms. Tahmina, addressing inquiries raised by enthusiastic students from Delhi University who actively attended the World Youth Festival presentation on October 18th. In the course of this interaction, Ms. Tahmina unveiled a key detail: around 400 young individuals, aged 18 to 35, are set to be chosen from India for the festival in March 2024. Notably, the event organizers will be responsible for providing accommodation and meals. However, participants will need to arrange their airfare, although it's worth noting that outstanding entries may have their travel expenses covered as well.



The Indian National Preparatory Committee (NPC):

The meeting concluded with anticipation of the establishment of the Indian National Preparatory Committee (NPC) upon confirmation from the ministry. The NPC's objective is to promote the Festival and support the preparation of the Indian delegation.


The event culminated in a group photograph, fostering a sense of unity among attendees, followed by a networking session that sparked discussions about potential future collaborations. The atmosphere was charged with positivity, as Indian youth leaders and their international counterparts exchanged thoughts and ideas.

- Federal Agency on Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh): A federal executive body dedicated to coordinating youth policy and creating equal opportunities for young people's self-realization.

- Directorate of the World Youth Festival: A specialized organization created to host the World Youth Festival in 2024 in Sochi, Russia.

- The International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation (IYES Foundation): A not-for-profit, non-commercial and non-government youth organization registered under the charitable Indian Trusts Act, 1882, Government of India. IYES Foundation aims to empower and motivate youth through education, skills, employment, and entrepreneurship and involve young people to solve the world’s toughest problems with their full potential and work towards building a brighter future and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. IYES Foundation has organized various programs and realized projects in the interest of youth. The Foundation also became one of the winners of the international award “We are Together” in 2021 for organizing a humanitarian project "COVID Help Store".

- The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BRICS CCI) is committed to advancing economic cooperation, trade, and investment among the member nations of the BRICS alliance. The chamber provides a dynamic platform for businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals from these nations, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and expansion. BRICS CCI's primary objective is to establish a supportive ecosystem, with a special focus on the MSME sector, young entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, and Start-Ups across diverse geographical regions.


This event serves as a testament to the resounding commitment of Indian youth to making a significant impact on society, both locally and globally, and reflects their strong determination to shape a brighter future for all.
