The Culture of Nations Foundations and NGO EthnoBuisness Forum with the support of the Gorchakov Fund begin accepting applications for participation in Youth Ethnoforum "New Generation – 2021". Due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the event will take place in Moscow.
Dates of the event: November 27-28, 2021 Location: Moscow, Russia Languages of the event: Russian, English. Ethnoforum "New Generation – 2021" is aimed at preservation of folk art and its integration into creative industries, which will allow many young professionals in ethnic art and design to use cultural heritage for artistic search and create vivid authentic images of their projects, develop professional skills, and participate in cultural exchanges and public ethno-diplomacy with the youth of Russia, Turkey and the Balkan countries. The forum will include two special-purpose platforms:
1. Turkish Expert Forum "Diplomacy and Ethnobusiness"; 2. Youth Forum "The Balkans – A Territory of International Meaningful Cooperation".
Those platforms will target:
- development and intensification of cooperation between Russian representatives of youth NGOs and students and the above mentioned countries; - creating conditions for development of international youth projects and programs; - promotion and development of folk art among the youth; - creating new social and cultural ties among participants of the project; - development of the common multicultural community, which will bring together students in the areas of culture and diplomacy and their mentors. Who can participate?
- students of field-specific secondary and higher educational institutions in folk art, creativeness and diplomacy; - young professionals in ethno-culture, creativeness, international cultural relations; - activists of NGOs engaged in international activities and dealing with issues of ethno-culture and diplomacy; - experts of intermediate vocational and higher educational institutions in the areas of folk art and creativeness; - experts in national policy and interregional relations, folk culture; - experts in PR, digital technologies, branding, experts from top industry companies specializing in arts and crafts and ethno-brands of the creative industry. Citizens of Russia, Turkey and the Balkan countries, ages 18-35, are welcome to apply. Participants will be selected based on results of an open competition. - Russian-Turkish relations in the areas of ethno-culture, creativeness and diplomacy;
- the best Turkish and Russian practices in development of folk culture;
- preservation and development of creative work by students at filed-specific educational institutions of Russia, Turkey and Balkan countries. The size of the essay should not exceed 6000 characters with spaces.
In order to participate in the Youth Forum "The Balkans – A Territory of International Meaningful Cooperation", please follow these steps:
complete an application using a form of the Gorchakov Fund;
attach an essay on one of the topics listed below:

- cooperation of Russia with the Balkan countries in the areas of ethno-culture, creativeness and diplomacy;
- the best Balkan and Russian practices in development of folk culture;
- preservation and development of creative work by students at filed-specific educational institutions of Russia and the Balkan countries.
The size of the essay should not exceed 6000 characters with spaces.
Terms of participation: The orgazniers will provide: - visa support to foreign participants traveling to Russia; - accommodation in double rooms; - travel costs to/from the venue of the forum.
The participants (or delegating organizations) will be responsible for:
- a visa fee (in case it is not possible to receive a cultural exchange visa); - a PCR test for coronavirus; - medical insurance. Deadline for applications: October 30, 11:59 pm (Moscow Standard Time). Results of the contest will be announced on November 2. All applicants will be notified about the results via email.
