Bhavan College, Mumbai hosted presentations of the Program and the project "Great BRICS Teacher"

Within the framework of the humanitarian track of the Program "BRICS People Choosing Life" co-organised by IYES Foundation with RPO "BRICS. World of Traditions", the presentations of the Program and the project "Great BRICS Teachers" were held at seven educational institutions of Mumbai and Pune. The project was implemented by the Regional Public Organization "BRICS. World of Traditions" in the countries of the "five" from 2008 to 2019 in the format of a five-sided baton of peacekeeping cultural and research expeditions "Great BRICS Teacher".


The meeting was attended by the Director of the College, Dr. G.S. Choudry, Indian Honored Guests and friends of the college, including Avkash Jadhav, a well-known historian, Head of the Department of History of St. Javier's College, Mumbai.

The guests from the Russian side were the Deputy Consul General of Russia in Mumbai Sergey Meshcheryakov, Head of the Russian House in Mumbai Elena Remizova, President of the Regional Public Organization "BRICS. World of Traditions", manager of the Program Lyudmila Sekacheva, and members of the Russian-Indian delegation: Coordinator for International Relations of the Russian organization Dmitry Kurbatov, Chairman of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation, Noida, India, Akil Mohammad, Director of the Foundation, Rahul Sharma, journalist and documentarist Anastasia Shkitina, central television operator Dmitry Chiglintsev.



In their speeches, the Russian guests emphasized the importance and timeliness of Indian students and young people comprehending the ideas and philosophy of the Great Teachers of the BRICS countries to harmonize the spiritual and moral state of the young generation.

In his interview to the film crew of the Program, the historian Avkash Jadhav punctuated that "The meeting was truly fascinating. The event was organized at the highest level. I am especially grateful to my friend Yuvraj Nalavada (Professor of the Department of History at Bhavan College) for inviting me as Guest of Honor".


The College students actively participated in the discussion and quiz conducted by Anastasia Shkitina, showing their knowledge and interest in the personalities of Mahatma Gandhi, the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy and Russia in general.
