The Diplomatic Seminar of Young Experts is a research and educational programme and a youth platform for an open dialogue on the issues of cooperation in the areas of international relations, economics, law, public diplomacy, and history.
During the period of its existence since 2012, the project has brought together over 800 specialists and experts from 30 CIS and non-CIS countries. For many young experts, participation in the project served as a good professional stimulus for further scientific and social activities.
The Gorchakov Fund starts accepting applications to join the autumn Diplomatic Seminar to be now held in Vladivostok. The event is partnered by Far Eastern Federal University.
The project will include meetings with leading scholars who study international relations, economics, and global security, as well as prominent political scientists and historians, representatives of community-based organisations, and academic figures.
Dates of the Seminar: 29 October – 2 November 2023.
The programme is devoted to the current state and development of Russia’s diplomatic, political, trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation with the countries of the Eurasian continent: the Asia-Pacific states, the Global South, and the Middle East. The programme participants and experts will also focus on the evolution of new international organisations: the SCO and BRICS.
Eligibility
students and postgraduates specialising in international relations, political science, journalism, economics and law.

Gorchaov Fund accept applications submitted by experts from Russia, the CIS states, Europe, Asia, and other regions round the world.
Designated age of participants: 20-35 years.
The group of delegates is formed on the basis of a competitive selection.
Instructions to participate
To enter the competition, you need to fill in the Gorchakov Fund application form.
Every application must be accompanied by an essay in Russian or English on one of the following topics:
Intensification of cooperation between post-Soviet countries: ways and solutions.
Prospects for deepening relations between Russia and the countries of Asia-Pacific and the Global South.
The Future of the SCO and BRICS in Eurasia: opportunities and challenges.
Middle East: the possibility of the transition from a zone of instability to a zone of interaction between all actors.
The essay length must be up to 5,000 characters (with spaces).
The authors of the three best videos of motivation will be paid for their travel.
Conditions of participation:
the event organisers provide accommodation, meals and travel in Vladivostok as part of the programme;
the participants pay for their travel to Vladivostok and back.
