From 21 to 23 October, 2021 educational course «School of Public Diplomacy» will be held at the Izhevsk State Technical University named after M.T. Kalashnikov in the city Izhevsk.
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in interest in public diplomacy around the world, which has become an important instrument of foreign policy. In Russia, over the past few years, with the participation or under the wings of the government, a large number of projects have been developed and implemented as part of a program to form a positive image of Russia abroad.
Since young people, and especially students, are the most active and mobile part of the population, they are assigned one of the key roles in strengthening and developing relations between communities of foreign states. Therefore, the main goal of the project is to create a student public diplomacy club.
The format of the School assumes an intensive program for 3 days from October 21 to 23 based on ISTU. The project participants will receive up-to-date information about the theory and practice of public diplomacy from leading specialists in the field, learn about the possibilities of implementing their own projects in the field of public youth diplomacy. The main result of the project will be the creation of a Student Club for the Development of Public Diplomacy. Knowing what is meant by public diplomacy and who is a public diplomat, participants will learn the answers to the questions "How is public diplomacy carried out?" and "With what help?" Within the framework of information blocks, methods and tools of public diplomacy, channels through which it can be carried out and methods of its implementation will be considered.
