President of the Regional Public Organization “BRICS. World of Traditions" Lyudmila Sekacheva and President of the Afanasy Nikitin Association Dmitry Potapenko signed a partnership agreement for the implementation in the countries of the five years of the five-year International and Interregional Socio-Cultural Program “BRICS People Choose Life” under the motto “From the ecology of soul and body to the ecology of the world”.
The decision to establish a partnership was made on January 25, 2022 at a meeting of the leadership of the Organization and the Association at the office of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs, where the concept of the Program was discussed, the format and responsibility of each of the partners in preparing and conducting the Indian track of the Program were agreed.
The signing ceremony of the Agreement was attended by the Vice-President of the NGO “BRICS. World of Traditions”, Program Manager, President of the International Youth Edu – Skills Foundation Akil Mohammad, Managing Director of the Association “Afanasy Nikitin” Igor Gots and Executive Director of the Association Nadezhda Skirda.
The program aimed at supporting the spiritual, moral and physical condition of a person will start in India approximately in December 2022 and will be dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the completion of the journey of the Tver merchant Afanasy Nikitin to India to establish trade relations with India.
The main goals of the Indian stage of the Program are: bringing together the peoples and cities of Russia and India through the joint organization of a number of events in the field of culture, education, education, charity, business and business cooperation; support for creative youth; establishment of twinning ties between Russian and Indian cities and friendly, educational ties between educational institutions of Russia and India.
During the Indian part of the Program, in addition to the humanitarian direction, it is planned to work out a business track related to the expansion of exports to India of high-quality Russian food products, industrial goods, handicrafts, which Russia is famous for, and their absence on the counters of the country limits the knowledge of Indians about Russia, its distinctive culture and national heritage, reduces the level of its attractiveness and competitiveness in the Indian consumer market.
As conceived by the organizers, the demonstration of such Russian products in India can take place in the format of a mini-fair of achievements of the national economy of Russia with the support and assistance of the Russian Embassy in India, the Russian Trade Representation in India, the Confederation of Indian Industry, New Delhi, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the city of Delhi.
