About the Contest

The MGIMO International School Olympiad for Foreign Citizens is a competition for schoolchildren from foreign countries planning to enroll in the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia) - one of the world leaders in training international specialists.


Goals

The main goals and objectives of the Competition are to identify the most gifted and trained citizens of foreign countries studying in the final grades of secondary educational institutions, to create the necessary conditions to support talented youth abroad, to promote scientific knowledge, to select school graduates who have shown talent and abilities to study at the federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education "Moscow State Institute of International Relations (university) Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation" (hereinafter - MGIMO MFA of Russia).


The competition provides for the identification of the level of competence formation in one or more of the following disciplines: Russian, English, fundamentals of geography, world history and international relations.


The competition on a voluntary basis can be attended individually by students of educational programs of secondary educational organizations who have the citizenship of the following states:

  • Kyrgyz Republic;

  • Mongolia;

  • Republic of Azerbaijan;

  • Republic of Armenia;

  • Republic of Belarus;

  • Republic of India;

  • Republic of Kazakhstan;

  • Republic of Tajikistan

  • African countries;

  • Turkmenistan.


There is no fee for participation in the Contest.


The working languages of the Competition are Russian and English.


Stages of the Competition.

The competition is held in two stages:

  1. the qualifying stage, which includes registration of participants and their performance of qualifying competitive tasks;

  2. final stage: completion of the final written work.

  • The qualifying stage is held remotely using the services of the official website of the Competition - http://int-olymp-mgimo.ru

  • The final stage is held in a face-to-face or remote format separately for each country whose citizens take part in the Competition. The venues and format of the final stage are determined by the Organizing Committee of the Competition.


The calendar plan of the stages is established by the Organizing Committee of the Competition.


Winning the competition will allow you to enter a budget place for bachelor's degree programs.


The best participants from all countries will be invited to full-time school at MGIMO.
