The acceptance of applications for participation in the youth media school “Digital Media Space. A Post-Soviet Dimension". The event will be organized by the Center for Analysis and Forecasting of Union Integration Processes, the Gorchakov Foundation, and the Center for Assistance to the Development of International Journalism "Russian-Baltic Media Center". The school will be held from 9 to 13 October in Pskov.
Who can participate:
– correspondents, stuff writers, observers of information publications/TV channels, bloggers;
– students of higher educational institutions specializing in international relations, journalism, economics, law, political science and history.
Age of participants: 18-28.
As part of the program of the event, lectures and discussions dedicated to the coverage of current challenges and problems in the political, economic and security spheres in the post-Soviet space are waiting for the participants. Also, experts and participants will discuss the principles of new media and their impact on the formation of the information plan, issues of ensuring digital security and increasing the level of media literacy and study the most effective tools for news transmission and data visualization.
A group of participants is formed on the basis of competition. To participate in the competitive selection it is necessary to fill in the application form after registering on the Fund's website. The application must be accompanied by a motivation letter, a full-face photograph, as well as two creative works :
1. Portfolio, which should reflect the student's achievements in the media sphere (examples of work, links to the top three materials/plots, etc.)
2. An essay on one of the topics:
"Information Confrontation in the Post-Soviet Space: Participants and the Balance of Forces"
"The work of the media in social networks in the new reality"
"The Fourth Estate: The Role of Journalism in Shaping Political Trends"

Essay size - no more than five thousand characters with spaces.
The terms of participation:
- the organizers of the event pay for accommodation, meals and travel around Pskov;
– participants pay their own way from their place of residence to Pskov and back;
– for participants who find St. Petersburg convenient as a transfer point, a bus transfer will be organized along the following routes:
1) 09.10. 11:00 St. Petersburg - Pskov;
2) 13.10 09:00 Pskov - St. Petersburg.
In the absence of any document specified in the form, the application will not be accepted for consideration. At the event's end, the participants will be provided certificates.
Applications are accepted until September 7 inclusive. All candidates will be informed about the results of the competition by September 12 by e-mail.
