On August 22-26, 2022, the International Youth Camp "Dialogue" will be held on the premises of the ethnographic park museum "ETNOMIR". The project will take place for the thirteenth time and will bring together 100 participants - young leaders, representatives of youth and ethnocultural organizations from the Russian Federation and foreign countries, who are actively involved in the implementation of intercultural and international youth projects.


The purpose of the camp is to create an educational space that unites young leaders, representatives of youth and ethno-cultural organizations with different cultural identities and experiences, in order to develop their competencies to improve the quality of their activities in promoting the ideas of intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace at the international, national and local levels.


Tasks:

  • to form among the participants an understanding of intercultural dialogue and the culture of peace as a concept and as a group process, as well as the necessary conditions for their promotion;

  • to increase the participants' intercultural competence and other competencies that contribute to the development and implementation of projects in the field of intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace;

  • identify and consider topical problems and challenges on the way to building intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace in the realities of the participants and in society as a whole, to develop possible responses;

  • analyze the experience of promoting intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace through human rights education tools, non-formal education methods and other practices;

  • to create conditions for the formation of a community of young activists who promote the ideas of intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace.

Within the framework of the camp program, the following topics will be considered:

  • "The role of intercultural dialogue in the process of rapprochement of cultures";

  • "Development of intercultural competence and intercultural learning";

  • "Interaction between the state and civil society in the field of intercultural dialogue";

  • "The role of international cooperation in the field of human rights protection in supporting intercultural dialogue";

  • "Harmonization of interethnic and interreligious harmony: prevention of manifestations of xenophobia, nationalism and extremism";

  • "Development and implementation of intercultural projects: quality criteria";

  • "Early conflict prevention and mediation ";

  • "Countering Hate Speech on the Internet".

Participants will be represented by two main groups:

  • young leaders from the Russian Federation;

  • young leaders from foreign countries.

All participants must be:

  • between the ages of 18 and 35;

  • be leaders of youth or ethno-cultural organizations, heads of youth projects or youth workers, representatives of youth self-government bodies, representatives of student unions, representatives of the volunteer movement, young specialists of state and municipal institutions, young specialists or researchers whose activities are directly related to the development of intercultural dialogue;

  • motivated to take an active part in the entire program of the camp;

  • those interested in the development of intercultural dialogue projects;

  • are ready to work on the dissemination and enhancement of the knowledge gained during the camp;

  • are ready to participate in all activities planned within the framework of the camp program;

  • are able to speak English or Russian.

Working languages: Russian and English, with simultaneous translation.

The International Youth Camp "Dialogue" is held jointly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the National Council of Youth and Children's Associations of Russia and the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "MIREA – Russian Technological University".

The International Youth Camp "Dialogue" is part of the Action Plan for 2021-2022 to implement the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030.
