Presentation of the Five-sided Historical and Literary Project «Peoples of BRICS. Dedicated to the War Heroes»
On the commemoration of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the Second World War the public organizations of the «five» jointly implement the Five-sided Historical and Literary Project «Peoples of BRICS. Dedicated to the War Heroes» (hereinafter – Project).
The peoples of all BRICS countries, i.e. Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, took part in the Second World War as part of the anti-Hitler coalition. The Jubilee Project is aimed at bringing people together on the basis of universal memory of events, historical truth and respect for their heroes, based on historical books written by authors from the BRICS countries using the archival materials about the participation and solidarity of the peoples of the «Five» at the war fronts and the great contribution of the Soviet Union in Victory over Hitler Germany.
The project serves to form the moral culture of the younger generation in the BRICS countries, to prevent manifestations of nationalism and extremism in the youth environment, to foster a deep respect for the history of their country and other states of the «Five» among children and adolescents.
The authors and organizers of the Project are the Regional Public Organization «BRICS. World of Traditions», Moscow, and the International Union of Public Associations «Public Committee of War Veterans», Moscow. The project is being implemented with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Embassies of the BRICS countries to the Russian Federation.
The presentation of the Project will take place on May 12, 2021 in the Hall of Fame of the Central Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow and will conclude the Victory Anniversary celebration. The beginning at 4 pm, the gathering of guests – at 3 pm.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sherpa of the Russian Federation to BRICS Sergey Ryabkov will be the main Honorary guest of the event (confirmed). Representatives of the leadership of the relevant Departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, including the Africa Department, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation as well as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of the BRICS countries to the Russian Federation are invited to the Project Presentation.
Media partners of the Presentation are TV BRICS, «Revista Intertelas» magazine, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, «International Affairs» magazine, Russia, Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL), India, New Delhi.
Participants of the Event will be the War veterans from Russia, representatives of public, veteran organizations, International Public Organization «Women Union of flight specialties AVIATRISA», teachers and students of MGIMO, Moscow State University, RUDN University, activists of the «Museum for Combat fame of the 46th Guards Taman Aviation Regiment of Night Bombers» gymnasium № 1576 in Moscow, cadets of the Moscow State Budgetary Educational Institution «School № 1409», Business Club «Territory of Success», Center of Aesthetics and Beauty «Katyusha», Center for orphan social support «Legion of good faith», College of Design and Decorative Arts named after S.G. Stroganov.
A unique part of the event is the demonstration of an exhibition of historical books and materials that have been identified in the countries of the Alliance, collected and recommended by the organizers of the Project for display and further study. The book by Brazilian authors «The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet People» is planned to be translated into Russian.
The creative part of the event will contain a performance by the «Yar» Theater show and pupils of the «Katyusha» Center of Aesthetics and Beauty with dance compositions «The Grandchildren of Victory» and «Friendship of Peoples». The presentation will end with the children’s and youth march «Immortal Regiment» action by children of the Embassies of the BRICS countries to Russia, pupils, students, youth, cadets.
This «Project of Truth» will serve to further rapprochement of the peoples of the BRICS countries on the topic of their solidarity during wars and preserving the truth about military events and heroes, strengthening the state Alliance and public diplomacy, practically confirming the well-known thesis of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S.V. Lavrov «on the importance of the role and significance of public diplomacy in the international arena of BRICS and other associations».
