INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN THE SECOND HALF OF 2022 PIR CENTER

PIR Center starts accepting applications for participation in the internship and practice program in the second half of 2022. Young international specialists are invited for an internship (practice), whose area of ​​professional and scientific interests is related to the problems of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, disarmament, and global security.


What awaits the participants of the PIR Center Internship and Internship Program?


  • Preparation of their own research project, during which the intern (probationer) receives professional advice from PIR Center staff and partners, meets with experts from government and scientific organizations.

  • Active participation and painstaking work in research, educational, publishing and information projects of the PIR Center and partners.

  • Preparation of reference, informational, analytical materials in text and video formats.

  • Participation in administrative activities.


What are the priority research areas?


  • Nuclear non-proliferation.

  • Arms control and disarmament.

  • Cooperation in the field of peaceful atom.

  • Regional aspects of nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament.


What requirements must candidates for internships and internships at the PIR Center meet?


  • interest in research in the field of international security;

  • a graduate, a student of the last courses of a bachelor's or master's degree, a graduate student in the field of international relations, regional studies, oriental studies, journalism, recent history, political science;

  • fluency in Russian;

  • knowledge of English at the Advanced level (knowledge of other foreign languages ​​is welcome);

  • strong communication skills;

  • responsibility, care;

  • creativity;

  • Willingness to an intensive work schedule, the ability to work full time (from 20 to 40 hours a week).


To participate in the competition, the applicant must send the following documents to the email address of the PIR Center Educational Program edu@pircenter.org by June 30, 2022:


  • a detailed summary in Russian indicating the area of ​​scientific interests;

  • recommendation from the head of the department/supervisor/supervisor/deputy head/mentor;

  • a list of available publications, including an electronic version of one of them (or a valid link if the work is posted on the Internet).

  • The organizers have the right to offer the candidate to pass an oral interview in an online format.


The exact start date of the internship and internship and areas of work will be agreed with the winners of the competition on an individual basis. Tentatively, the cycle of internships and practices in the second half of 2022 will be held from July-August to December 2022-January 2023.
