The International Forum of Scientific Youth "Step into the Future" is a grandiose competition of the best young minds of the planet, which annually gathers ambitious and talented young people who want to demonstrate their achievements at the world level. The topics of the forum cover the most relevant areas in the field of engineering, precision, natural and social sciences and humanities.
In the spring of 2024, the forum will bring together 1,500 future scientific and technological leaders from Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and Oceania in Moscow. The forum is attended by schoolchildren, students of primary courses of universities, colleges, technical schools, students of cadet corps, Suvorov and Nakhimov schools who have their own achievements in science and engineering. There is no registration fee for forum participants.
The International Forum "Step into the Future" is an unprecedented event by world standards, and not only in terms of the number of participants, but also in terms of the first–class academic environment in which its events will take place.
The scientific platforms of the forum are organized on the basis of 14 world-class scientific centers and 13 leading Russian universities. More than 300 doctors and candidates of sciences have been involved in working with young participants of the forum. The Chairman of the Program Committee of the Forum is Academician S.N. Kalmykov, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The main organizers of the forum are the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and the Russian Youth Polytechnic Society.
The Forum is the largest event of the Decade of Science and Technology and is supported by the Presidential Grants Fund, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Education, the National Agency for the Development of Qualifications, state corporations, high-tech companies, institutes of innovative development, and a number of other organizations.
The mission of the forum is to make the achievements of the participants known to a wide global audience. The work of the forum is traditionally covered by the main television channels of Russia, the Russian and foreign press. The Forum contributes to the integration processes of the BRICS interstate association.
Individual and collective projects (up to three authors) can be presented at the forum. The main form of evaluating achievements at the forum is the protection of research and development results in front of scientists and specialists with the participation of peers and invited professionals.
The participants will have an eventful program – a scientific and technological exhibition of the best research and development, more than fifty thematic sections, scientific and educational platforms, a festival of young fashion designers and designers, Olympiads and competitions, acquaintance with scientific laboratories and engineering centers, as well as the main battle of the forum - the battle of teams for the Scientific and Technological Cup of Russia.
The work of the forum will be organized in two stages – face-to-face and remote. The face–to-face stage of the forum will be held from March 25 to 29; the remote stage, including the final part of the international sections, will be held during April. Russian participants of international sections are selected based on the results of the first stage, taking into account the level of English proficiency.
Each stage of the forum has its own award system, in which there are more than one hundred nominations for more than five hundred winners and prize-winners. The collection of high–status awards includes diplomas from the Russian Academy of Sciences, universities, research centers and high-tech companies, scientific medals and cups, scholarships and internships. The winners and prize-winners of the forum enjoy benefits for admission to higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation.
The composition of the forum participants is formed on the basis of a competition for scientific research and technical developments. Most of them are selected based on the results of regional competitions, which are held by authorized organizations. Such organizations must register as official participants of the Step into the Future program. A smaller part is selected based on the results of an open competition and only for individual sections. The open competition accepts works from the subjects of the Russian Federation, which do not host regional competitions of the Step into the Future program. The costs of accommodation and meals, transportation and travel expenses are borne by the participants themselves.
For all students who want to prepare for participation in the forum, classes of the All-Russian distance School "Step into Science and Technology" were organized in October-December this year. The distance learning program includes 22 thematic interactive webinars. The speakers of the remote school are reputable scientists and specialists, doctors and candidates of sciences with long-term experience working with young researchers and developers.
