About the competition
Gromyko Competition for CIS Young Specialists on International Relations 2024 is organized by the Gromyko Association for Foreign Policy Studies, MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Eurasian Economic Commission. The project is being implemented with the funds of a grant allocated by the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS.
The purpose of the Competition
The aim of the competition is to promote research on international relations, the modern history of diplomacy and integration processes in the Eurasian space. The competition is aimed at expanding the number of young specialists, researchers and diplomats, as well as enhancing the interaction of research and educational institutions of the CIS and EAEU countries.
Conditions of participation in the competition
The competition is attended by students and graduates of institutions of higher education, graduate students, scientists, teachers, journalists, analysts and diplomats who are citizens of the CIS member states.
Participation in the competition is possible in the following nominations:
The main nomination is scientific articles by graduate students, scientists, teachers, analysts and diplomats under the age of 40 as of August 1, 2024.
The debut nomination is scientific articles by students and graduates of institutions of higher education not older than 30 years as of August 1, 2024.
The nomination "Essay Contest" – journalistic essays by students and graduates of institutions of higher education under the age of 30 as of August 1, 2024.
The jury also has the right to set additional special nominations.
Original unpublished scientific articles and analytical notes written independently by one or more authors (no more than 30 thousand characters) and devoted to the study of the following topics are accepted for participation:
Prospects for integration projects in the post-Soviet space: The Union State of Belarus and Russia, the EAEU, the CIS, the CSTO;
Contours of the new world order: challenges and opportunities for Russia and the CIS countries;
Scientific diplomacy as a resource for the formation of Greater Eurasia;
"total sanctions war": legal status, consequences and methods of counteraction;
The role and place of Central Asia and Transcaucasia in Eurasian integration;
Threats of conflict and tools to strengthen security in the Eurasia;
The diplomatic legacy of A.A. Gromyko;
The Great Patriotic War and the Second World War: the problem
preservation of historical memory and the fight against falsification of history;
The role of the UN, its past and future in the system of international relations.
In 2024, works in a special nomination for journalistic essays on the following topics are also accepted for participation in the competition:
"A new redistribution of the world: the war of civilizations or the balance of macroregions";
"Culture Wars": How does the struggle to reformat a person's identity affect world politics?"
Competitive works in the main and debut nominations must be designed according to the rules for the preparation of scientific articles
To participate in the competition, you must submit an application via the electronic form on the website by 23:59 on May 13, 2024 inclusive http://konkurs-gromyko.org by attaching the participant's questionnaire and the file with the competition work. The volume of the manuscript of the work submitted for the competition should not exceed 30 thousand characters, including spaces.
