From July 8 to 12, Kyrgyzstan will host the annual event of the Gorchakov Fund — the scientific and educational program "School on Central Asia 2025". The central theme of the School will be a discussion of the future energy complex of the countries of the region. The project partners will be the Institute of Strategic Analysis and Forecasting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, as well as the National Energy Security Fund, represented by Deputy Director Alexey Igorevich Grivach.

Main thematic areas:

• The Future of the Energy Sector in Central Asia: Between National Priorities and International Trends

• External Players in the Central Asian Energy Arena: Resource Geopolitics and New Alliances

• Green Agenda in Central Asia: Renewable Energy, Nuclear Power Plants and Transboundary Water Diplomacy

• Analysis of national strategies of Central Asian countries in the energy sector

Who can become a participant?

• The age of the participants is from 18 to 35 years.

• students, master's degree students, and postgraduate students of specialized universities;

• researchers in the field of international relations, political scientists, economists, lawyers, historians;

• representatives of public organizations dealing with issues of international cooperation and public diplomacy;

• young diplomats and representatives of government agencies;

• journalists whose work interests are related to international relations and political science.

How to participate?

• Register on the Russian-language website of the Gorchakov Fund or log in to your existing profile.

• In the “My Projects” section, apply for the School on Central Asia.

• Fill out all sections of the questionnaire.

• Attach to your application an essay/analytical work of up to 5,000 characters with spaces on one of the proposed topics and a motivation letter.

• Go to the “Submit an application” section and click the appropriate button.

Essay Topics:

• Review of the energy complex of the country/countries of Central Asia

• The Importance of Nuclear Energy in Ensuring National Security in the Countries of the Region

• Future Sources of Stability in the Central Asian Energy Sector

The organizers will pay for travel to and from the event for the authors of the three best essays.

Conditions of participation:

1. The Gorchakov Fund covers the costs of accommodation in double rooms, meals, a cultural program and travel around the city within the framework of the program, and provides visa support.

2. Participants pay for travel to the host city (air or train tickets), visa fee, travel from/to the airport, and a PCR test (if necessary).
